Dollywood – Anytime is the right time!

Yes, Dollywood park is an award-winning amusement park. Her park has won the Golden Ticket award for a sixth consecutive time. They have some of the best shows and has won nine years in a row for her variation of shows to choose from me. Christmas is a spectacular time to see the decorations and enjoy the celebration. And Dolly was the park that earned this award for the first time. The park has excellent choices for restaurants, and there are a variety of restaurants for any one’s palate.

Dollywood Food, Shows, and Fun!

Feast your eyes on the Front Porch cafe food. It offers mouth-watering
southern food; biscuits, gravy, fried chicken, and more. The grist mill sells the legendary cinnamon bread, take some home with you; it is delicious.

They have such a variety of shows to choose from: Upfront and personal with the “Wings of America.” It shows impressive birds with exciting facts about them; birds of prey, such as the American wild eagle. Birds of prey are a predatory bird that is famous for a hooked bill and sharp talons. Please take note that these birds are under safe handling and well respected for their-part they play in our environment. The American Eagle Foundation has a watchful eye on these beautiful creatures.

There are plenty of shows: musical and lots of singing, dancing, thrill rides, kids rides, and comedy shows.

Have a blast at Wildwood Grove

Entering into Wildwood is surprising. Why? You will be walking into a fallen hollow out tree. Beautiful lit butterflies flutter in amongst the tree’s 9000 leaves, imagine that effect.

The kids will love the Wildwood Grove. They will fall in love with all the woodland creatures: Benjamin Bear, Flit, and Flutter. These characters welcome all to the grove and love to meet all the visitors. Be sure a take a family photo with your favorite woodland creature.

The new rides will hold the attention of the kids, but the thrill-seekers will enjoy the “Dragonflier ride.” It’s the park’s ninth coaster ride, and be prepared the coaster hangs below the track, so gripping the handlebars and maybe yelling comes with the territory. Beautiful scenery surrounds you while you enjoy this ride.

Downtime might be calling for the adults! Then this might be the perfect place to take a breather and enjoy the indoor play area for kids. Excellent for summer or winter, and the kids will enjoy all the exploring with fun play structures and slides. The couches are a great retreat to sit and rest for a while.

A must is to enjoy the food. Try the newest place called Till & Harvest. It’s unique because you can build your entrees. Make bowls or burritos, salads, and nachos. They have great tasting fresh vegetables, delectable meats that are wood-fired, and flavorful sauces to add to your masterpiece! They also offer different types of concession stands through-out Wildwood.

Souvenirs galore

Having a souvenir to remember your adventure at the theme park or a perfect gift, then check out their shop called Mountain Grove Merchants. Don’t forget to see if there is a T-shirt or mug that might catch your fancy.

Unique Museum: Fun for everyone

Chasing rainbows, which Dolly created, is an inspiring place to enjoy a state of the art museum. It reflects Dolly’s career and life while able to interact with hands-on experiences for the visitor. Also, behind the scenes stories, memorabilia, and collections of this superstar.

She has some beautiful gowns that are on display from her many concerts and costumes from her movies 9 to 5 and Straight Talk. She has a collection of her awards on display, as well. Her intention is for everyone to follow their dreams and chase the rainbow in your life!

What’s a Gypsy wagon?

Dolly Parton loves her RV called Gypsy Wagon! She prefers her RV then hotels. It is interesting to take a look; usually, there are short lines. It shows how the star lives on the road with a full kitchen; she loves to fix her meals. And a lovely bedroom for her. She has some of her costumes and wigs on display. She also has bunk beds for her driver or her nieces and nephews. She has a new RV, can you imagine what that one looks like?

Hand made crafts

Besides all the thrilling rides at Dollywood, they have craft demonstrations in Craftsman valley. Shop for handmade pieces and a hands-on experience if you want to learn how to make candles. Also, see the glass blown ornaments; interesting how they make the products.

Follow the crowd to the Country Fair

If you want to feel like you are in the woods, travel into the country fair section. The Country Fair section of the park has classic carnival games that are always a hit with kids; adults too! Your little ones will love going home with stuffed animals that they won themselves! Visitors to the Country Fair will also find a treasure of fried foods to enjoy; foot-long corn dogs, cotton candy, funnel cake, popcorn lavished in butter, and drinks. It makes it easy to get something quick and get back to those rides.

Take a ride on the railroad

Try the Express train. It is a coal-fired train that tours the foothills of the beautiful Smoky Mountains. It is about a 5-mike trek; besides the kids, the adults will love the smooth ride and enjoy the scenery — one way to relax and see a lot of the park.

Impressive festivals to enjoy

Lots of festivals. If you manage to be there in the fall, the Harvest festival is exciting. Many jack-o-lanterns, entertainment, singing, and tons of fall decorations. The Christmas festival is a highlight throughout the park; they have nightly parades and beautiful decorations. It is spectacular. Be sure and check out the schedule so you can be at these extraordinary festivals.

Place to stay

Need a place to stay? If you want to experience a memorable time, try the “dreammore resort.” Surrounded by the Smoky Mountains and located in Pigeon Forge. A 3-minute drive away from the theme park. Plus, you are close to the Old Mill Restaurant, fabulous food! That’s a plus when you stay here, close to many things. Their rooms have large 42″ flat screens, free wifi, and transportation to the theme park. Included in the room is a small refrigerator and coffee maker. They have facilities on the property for laundry, spa, pool, hot tub, and places for the kids to play. They have a restaurant on-site for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. A gift shop and snack shop make it convenient for anyone-A 7-mile drive to the nearest golf course. The hotel is comfortable with enough amenities that you get the whole package in a beautiful hotel.

If a hotel isn’t what you are looking for, they have cabins galore to stay. Most cabins are well-equipped and make it fun if you have a large family or you are going with some friends. Check out the area there are many cabins near the park, which makes it easier if you decide to get a season pass and come back within the year.

Pigeon Forge: a well-rounded little city

Pigeon Forge is a unique city to explore if you have the time. Dolly has a fun dinner show in the area to go and see. Dolly Parton’s Stampede; it keeps you entertained, and the food is good.

Pigeon Forge is home to Dolly Parton, located in east Tennessee. Besides, having the theme park, they have many festivities going on throughout the area. A vast car show comes through there every year, and dinner shows. Plus souvenir shops, rides (water and amusement parks), BBQ places and more. They have a couple of outlet stores if you need to buy anything and Sevierville has a Tanger outlet, which is on the main Parkway. The area offers the visitor a variety of places to see and eat; a great opportunity to explore the Smoky’s while having the convenience to meet your needs.

The smoky’s are a popular place to visit: Eleven million a year. It’s is not a big surprise that the park attracts so many visitors every year. The record for visitors seems to exceed the following year. Why? It is the number one national park in the United States and offers a variety of hiking trails, driving tours, beautiful scenery–check out the visitors center they are accommodating. “The mountains are calling” are they calling you?
